The Dataset manager tool allows users to configure and modify the attribute values used by both tag attributes and metadata lookups.
Adding a dataset
- Click the Tools button along the lefthand navigational sidebar and choose Datasets.
- Use the upper-left plus button.
- Either drag a data file to the Add dataset window or use the file picker to choose a data file from local storage. Note that only .csv files may be added to the queue.
- Click Save to upload your file to the dataset manager.
Editing a dataset
If a value in a dataset has been applied to an asset, it may not be edited in any way unless it is removed from all affected assets.
Adding rows
- Click the Tools button along the lefthand navigational sidebar and choose Datasets.
- Click the action menu icon choose Edit.
- Decide whether or not the new row before or after the current row.
- Apply a value to your new row.
- Click Done when finished editing the dataset.
Deleting rows
- Click the Tools button along the lefthand navigational sidebar and choose Datasets.
- Use the action menu button which accompanies the dataset being edited; choose Delete row.
- A confirmation dialogue will appear. Click Delete.
- Click Done when you are through editing the dataset.
Modifying rows
- Click the Tools button along the lefthand navigational sidebar and choose Datasets.
- Use the action menu icon and choose Edit.
- Select the value in the dataset to modify and input the new value.
- Click Done when you are through editing the dataset.
Replacing a dataset
If a dataset is replaced with existing values omitted, the system will delete those values from the dataset. If one of these deleted values is already applied to an asset, those values cannot be deleted or replaced until all of those values are removed from all affected assets. The rest of the dataset will be replaced as usual.
- Click the Tools button along the lefthand navigational sidebar and choose Datasets.
- Use the action menu icon and choose Replace.
- Drag a data file to the Replace dataset window or use the file picker to choose a data file from local storage. Note that only .csv files may be added to the queue.
- Click Save.
Deleting a dataset
If a dataset contains any values which have already been applied to an asset, it cannot be deleted.
- Click the Tools button along the lefthand navigational sidebar and choose Datasets.
- Use the action menu icon and choose Delete.
- From the confirmation dialogue, choose Delete.
Advanced settings
The following properties control the use of dataset manager:
