NetX requires third-party software known as Transcoding Engines in order to process media files such as images, videos, and documents.
Engines tab
To view and begin configuring these Transcoding Engines, first navigate to the Systems area of your NetX instance and select the Engines tab. You will be presented with the full list of Engines, whether or not they are currently configured for your Instance. NetX makes it easy to tell which Engines have been configured already by way of the Status column, which will either mark an Engine as Active or Not Configured.
Sorting and Filtering
In order to better organize and view your Transcoding Engines, NetX allows for alphabetization by name or grouping by status via the Name and Status headers. Alternately, you may automatically filter your Engines as you type into the search bar.
Active
If an Engine has been marked as Active, selecting the pencil button will allow you to disable the Engine in question using the Enable toggle.
NOTE Disabling an Engine requires a restart of your NetX instance.
Not Configured
An Engine may be listed as Not Configured if it has never been configured by an Administrator, if it has been specifically disabled, or automatically disabled by NetX after failing to complete one or more jobs a number of times that exceeds the engines failure threshold. If you click one of these unconfigured Engines, you will be presented with various configuration fields; these will be unique to the Engine you are currently viewing. Using the Enable toggle, you will be able to activate the Engine.
