Repurpose action
You can access the Repurpose action for an individual image asset via the action menu on an asset's detail view or by right-clicking over the asset from a gallery. Select either the Crop or Adjustments action to open the repurpose editor.
Crop
The Crop feature allows you to isolate a rectangular portion of your image, then download only that portion of your image. Please note: if your asset is less than 1000 pixels high or wide, you will receive a warning that the crop feature is not available.
- Crop a rea: This is the active area which will be cropped from the rest of the image. The square blue markers you see around this highlighted area represent draggable points of the crop area.
- Aspect ratio: If you need a specific aspect ratio for the image, these dropdown options will automatically resize the crop area according to your selection and enforce that ratio as you shrink or expand the crop area. Selecting Free will allow you to drag the selected area where ever you wish.
- Coordinates: Automatically relocates the crop area according to the x (horizontal) and y (vertical) coordinates inputted. This number will update as you drag the crop area around the image.
- Dimensions: Assign a specific pixel size for the crop area. Note that changing one value will update the other according to your chosen aspect ratio unless the ratio is set to Free. Dimension units are in pixels.
- Reset crop field: Expands the crop area to the full size of the original image.
- Cancel & Apply: Use the Cancel button to navigate away from the crop window back to the adjustments screen; Apply will crop the current image and take you to the crop operations window.
- X: Closes the repurpose window and navigates you to your previous NetX context (such as the asset's detail page).
Crop operations
The following operations are available for cropped images:
- Crop will take you back to the crop window.
- Format will allow you to change the final download format for your image.
- Profile adjusts the color profile of the image.
- Watermark will allow you to apply a watermark to the cropped image.
Adjustments
Selecting Adjustments from the repurpose action workflow menu launches the repurpose editor. In the main window, a preview of the asset updates as operations are applied. Some operations may alter an image but will not reflect in the image's preview, such as altering the image's DPI. Applied operations are listed under the dropdown, and can be removed with the Delete button. Once you have finished applying operations, click Continue to download the repurposed image.

| DPI |
DPI (Dots Per Inch) is a resolution setting. Depending on how your image asset will be used, you may need to adjust the DPI (Dots Per Inch) setting of your asset. The drop-down which accompanies this field indicates both the usage for each DPI setting (Web, Newspaper, or Print) as well as the numerical Dots Per Inch (72, 150, and 300, respectively). Note: Photoshop files use a proprietary embedded profile, which, if not stripped from the image, will enforce the original resolution rather than the new value. | Height |
The default value of Height is the measurement (in pixels) of your original image from top to bottom. You can adjust this number anywhere between 0 and the original height value. | Hue |
Hue adjusts the color of your image by causing a "rotation" of the colors within the image by the amount scaled using the slider. Black elements will still appear black while white elements will remain white. A value of 0 or 100 will show no change. Type: slider Value options: 100 → 100 |

| Invert |
Invert replaces each pixel with its complementary color. For example, red, green, and blue intensities will be negated while white and black will reverse. Type: boolean Value options: present: true absent: false |

Maximum dimension is the number (in pixels) of your image's longest side. This may be the same value as your image's Height or Width, depending on the image being used. | Profile |
Color Profiles describe the color attributes of a particular input (camera) or output (display, printer) device. Ask your organization's IT or printing department to find out if you need to attach a color profile to your assets. To add additional profile options, move any relevant files to the netx/ [instance name] /netx /templates directory for your site, then restart the application. The Sharpen function will enhance both the bright and dark elements of your asset, creating a stronger distinction between the two. | Watermark |
This operation will embed a watermark into repurposed assets. Select from a list of watermarks your administrator has enabled and choose the placement of the watermark in the 3x3 grid. Colorspace converts the image asset's color space to RGB (red/green/blue), CYMK (cyan/magenta/yellow/key), or grayscale. An sRGB colorspace is assumed if the image format does not indicate otherwise. Contrast enhances the intensity between light and dark elements in your image. At negative values, the image will appear grayer and more flat, with -100 showing as a completely flat, gray image.
